Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) has the goal of creating a future metropolis that is both inclusive and environmentally friendly.
Iskandar NEXT sets the direction for IIB Group for over the next 5 years to help build an inclusive and sustainable future metropolis, centred around the 'New Economy,' 'New Experience,' and 'New Talents’ pillars.
In addition, the initiative of Private-Public Partnership Program by IIB and other group of companies aims to bring a new digital economy, new business & living experience and new talent for the emerging economy into Malaysia.
Iskandar NEXT ensures that IIB remains relevant and aligned to Johor state and federal level initiatives. It represents a point in time in IIB's journey as a key player in Iskandar Malaysia.
NEXT has played host to numerous events, including Iskandar NEXT Webinar Series, L’Etape Malaysia by Tour de France, Junior Drone Pilot, Iskandar Puteri Fun Ride, IPAC, and other virtual runs/cycles.

Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) has wasted no time in building an ecosystem that’s centred around the ‘Experience’, ‘Learn’, ‘Invest’ and ‘Events’ pillars. Embracing pillars like New Technologies, Curating Meaningful Experiences, Driving the Digital Economy and Nurturing the Talent of the Future has also enabled IIB to develop multi-sector, technology-based enterprises, thus making it a destination of choice in the region.
For instance, the Blockchain Village@Medini and Drone and Robotics Zone (DRZ) Iskandar prioritises the element of experience. Perantis Iskandar and EduCity Iskandar Academy upholds learning. Wawari, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort and Medini Iskandar Malaysia, meanwhile, were developed as investment opportunities that offer potentially sizable returns. In addition, NEXT has played host to numerous events, including Iskandar NEXT Webinar Series, L’Etape Malaysia by Tour de France, other virtual runs and cycles, as well as the IGNITE conference, which featured a combination of physical and virtual webinars and sessions, in December 2021.
Iskandar NEXT is also the preferred venue for the Young Drone Pilot Programme, that kickstarted in 2022. This programme is the first phase of the Drone STEM Program (DSP) initiative led by Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), in collaboration with Avitex Solution (M) Sdn Bhd. The latter corporation is the commercial arm of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)’s Department of Aeronautical Engineering Aircraft Structure for the Southern Drone School (SDS). Centred on principles of the DSP, including safety and drone knowledge, the main objectives of the Young Drone Pilot Programme are to identify potential opportunities to build a community that has a love for all things drone, robotics, and innovative technology.
Iskandar NEXT has also put together an online programme called Drone-In-A-Box. Another DSP initiative aims to promote interest and engage with the local community. Each registered participant gain access to a 2-day live streaming programme, and receive a drone, lanyard, t-shirt, and wing badge upon registration.
